A Knight's duties:
- Moving irrelevant topics to their proper location.
- Locking topics that no longer need replies.
- Deletion of topics that do not add value to the forum
- Ban misbehaving members. The type of ban (temporary/permanent) will be at your discretion.
Those who hold the title of knight are honorable, so we can trust you that you will not abuse your power, and do not abuse the law-abiding citizens.
In the event that a citizen has a problem with a knight, he/she is encouraged to take it up to that knight directly. We created a
subsection called "Complaints Secdtion" just for this purpose. It is for you to resolve your problems with another fellow member.
If the problem cannot be resolved, then you can discuss this with other knights. And if all else fails, you can go to The Emperor.
Requirements for Knights:
*In addition to doing a quest, Knights must express an interest in helping the forum grow. Being a staff member means continually contributing on a regular basis.
*Training shall be provided for those who are not familiar with the moderator priveleges. It shall be provided through MSN on remote desktop, or TeamViewer.
*This need not be mentioned, but moderators should remain consistently active. We ask that you log in at least once a month. After 1 month of inactivity, you will be sent a reminder to log in. Those who do not show activity after 15 days of receiving such message, that mod shall lose his/her title and rank, depending upon the situation. Rank shall be restored once the mod demonstrates that he / she can become active again.
In order to become a moderator, one must go through a list of tasks called a quest. Upon completion of the quest, you shall be promoted to the next highest level. If you are a regular member the next level would be a Knight of Honor.
But before the quest, you must find out if we are looking for mods. Look at the announcements in the forum for the post. If we are looking for mods, please reply in the appropriate topic. Once you post, wait for The Emperor to send you a "scroll." This scroll is confirmation that you may begin the quest. This is the green light that you may begin your quest, which shall be sent to you.
A quest consists of several tasks that directly or indirectly help the forum. Tasks may include but are not limited to:
Recruiting X number of members to the forum. You may do this however you wish. (1)
Become a referral on our social networking program called PeopleString. (2)
Helping some of our new members. (3)
Posting in a forum of one of our allies.
Contacting some of our inactive members.
Doing a writing / graphics assignment.
Joining our facebook group / subscribing to our youtube channel / joining our MyAnimeList group.
More details:
(1) Please do not cheat by making fake accounts with different email addresses. Trust us, we have ways of finding out cheaters, so remove such thought immediately. If found cheating, the quest will be nullified, with the possibility of making you an Unpriveleged One.
(2) You can register on PeopleString through our link at: http://www.peoplestring.com. The number of days you are expected to be active will vary from level to level.
Also, after becoming moderator, you are expected to be at least somewhat active on this site. It only takes a few minutes a day.
(3) Helping our new members can mean many things. New members are like babies, they need to be taken care of before they can start walking. If members become friends with mods, they are more likely to stay because the environment is better. In our forum, we are different because the mods are not the "bad guys."
Being Knighted:
When you have completed your quest, please go to The Emperor to verify that you have indeed fulfilled all requirements. Once it is verified, and if The Emperor says you have been promoted, then congratulations. Firstly, your moderator powers will be given to you the next time you login. Your level will show the newly promoted level that you have earned. Also, a post will be made in the announcements section regarding your promotion, and it will be a sticky for at least one week, so that other members can praise your achievements and honor your name.
